Just wanted to give a little recognition to my Mom for being amazing:
Nikola Filby, Associate Director, Western Regional Educational
Laboratory (San Francisco), for her contribution to quality R&D and
innovation. Nikki has been a major contributor to innovation in
education by documenting and successfully transferring knowledge about
innovative practices in fields such as teacher professional
development, district reform, and choice. She has also been on the
forefront of strengthening R&D methods and rigor. Nikki is the
first WestEd staff person to receive both an individual Paul D. Hood
Award as well as the Distinguished Contribution to the WestEd
Community, awarded in 2002.
-The Paul D. Hood Award for Distinguished Contribution to the Field, honoring staff contributions to educational research, development, and service. Nominees are recognized for an outstanding body of accomplishment, work whose excellence is broadly acknowledged by their professional colleagues.
-Award for Distinguished Contribution to the WestEd Community, honoring staff contributions to the WestEd community in its many forms, from project teams based in a single office to program areas spanning several sites. Nominees exhibit a level of professionalism in action and words that is exceptional for its positive impact on institutional operations, team performance and morale, and development of a productive work environment.
