The following is the basic script for the podcast I will create for We Media on Video Blogs and how Social Software relates to their future. There will be music. Probably.

Video Blog Network Report Script
Video Blogs are rapidly growing in popularity throughout the world. However, as Wikipedia describes, “One of the potential problems with Vlogs is the current inability of search engines to create rich metadata or "search engine" data from the stream. For Vlogs to be fully embraced as part of web culture, some indexing solution will need to emerge.”

This is where social software like flickr, wikipedia, and de.lic.ious has paved the way for vlogs. YouTube has already grown very popular as a site to view popular individual clips, with many videos being viewed millions of times.

Many different websites are trying to fill the void for high quality video blog content. One such site is Reelblogs.com, hailed by many as the first video blog network . Let’s hear what one of the creators of the site has to say about the future of Video Blogs and how social software fits in.
Questions:
1. Reelblogs was called the first ever Video Blog Network, but it seems that there were previous attempts to collect different video blogs into one space, what separates Reelblogs?
2. What role does social software such as tagging play in the future of vlogs?
3. Reelblogs is adopting the strategy of producing professional content first, and then opening mediums for users to upload their own content. Why include professional content, as opposed to focusing entirely on creating a place for others to load and share their own? Do you think there will be a place for such sites, which have already become so popular for photographs and other mediums.
4. How do you see video content from the internet competing with the forms of entertainment already available on television? Why would people not simply move popular television programs online?
5. What do you hope Reelblogs will look like in a year?
